Take the quiz and read all of the explanations. This quiz isn’t great (at least one question is marked wrong) but it’s a good starting point for thinking about real world illusions, and where our perceptions are fooled.
Report your score. List things you had trouble with, and why.
Then, choose 5 things you learned about your perception of the world from taking this test.
For EACH of those 5 things:
* State what it is, and explain the process by which that perception is formed.
* Give a real-world example where your perception of the world may not match “reality”. Do NOT use examples from the senses quiz: instead, consider things in the day to day world where your perception might be flawed. Be specific. You may need to investigate other sources to explain the perceptual problems you chose to discuss.
As before, your paper should be 2-3 pages, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 1 inch margins. Review the syllabus for all due dates.
There should be six paragraphs in this assignment: a summary of what you had trouble with and why, and five paragraphs detailing each of the five real-world examples related to illusions you saw in the senses challenge. PLEASE follow these instructions carefully. I really want to give you full points.
