Today, should the US still pursue a policy of strengthening its cooperation with Interpol and Europol?

By now in the course, you have examined the various ways that international, interagency cooperation has been promoted in Europe, North America, and globally.
Over a decade ago, the Obama Administration promoted the strategy of strengthening the United States’ relationship with international police agencies, including Interpol and Europol – given the transnational security threats at hand, as well as the law enforcement capabilities and potential of these international bodies. In this context and for this report (research paper), examine these questions:
1. Today, should the US still pursue a policy of strengthening its cooperation with Interpol and Europol? Why/why not?
2. If so, how so? What would be the costs and benefits of doing so (or not)? Be that sure you understand the true nature of each of these bodies and their current relationship with the US—before prescribing any changes to this relationship (draw on course materials AND up-to-date research).
3. Should the US strengthen its cooperation with any of its neighbors in North America by following the lead of the European Union and creating permanent international bodies akin to Europol, Frontex, Eurojust, etc.?
4. What would be the costs and benefits of doing so (or not)?
