Additionally, CVD rates tend to be higher among individuals with lower income and education levels (Kreps et al., 2019). In the United States, CVD is a significant public health problem. According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 610,000 people die of CVD each year in the United States, which is about 1 in every 4 deaths (CDC, 2020).
