Over the course of my academic journey, my writing and research skills have significantly improved. One strategy that has been particularly helpful in improving my writing is the use of pre-writing techniques such as outlining and brainstorming (Bousquet, 2020). These techniques have allowed me to better organize my thoughts and ideas, resulting in clearer and more cohesive written work. Another skill that has greatly enhanced my research abilities is the use of primary sources. Prior to my coursework, I relied heavily on secondary sources and often struggled to incorporate a diverse range of perspectives in my research. However, through practice and guidance from my professors, I have learned how to effectively locate and analyze primary sources, leading to more in-depth and nuanced research (Smith, 2019).
