According to Peter Drucker, “culture eats strategy for breakfast.” This quote sums up the organizational design challenge of aligning culture with strategy. In order for an organization to be successful, it is essential for the company’s culture and strategy to be aligned and support one another. This can be a challenge, as culture is often seen as a difficult element to change and can resist attempts at alignment with strategy. However, effectively aligning culture and strategy can lead to numerous opportunities for the organization, such as increased employee engagement and a more innovative and adaptable company. In my organization, we manage this balance by regularly evaluating and adjusting our strategy to ensure it aligns with our culture and values.
