Based on student interest, experience, and expertise, individual student will conduct a project to answer a busines question. The students will
• Locate, collect, and prepare necessary data set
• Visualize the data, can be a dashboard, or a storyline, highlight interesting patterns in your data, use multiple data presentation techniques, follow good data visualization rules.
• Analyze the data with data mining techniques and software of your choice to answer your question
• Present and report the results on a summary and in a report.
At the end of semester, a report (up to 10 pages in main text) detailing the project will be submitted. In your report, please describe
• the problem/requirement: what is the purpose of your project? Answering questions? Presenting an interesting story in your data? A dashboard for managerial use? Discover something new? Test hypotheses?
• data set: where did you get the data, authenticity, its size, data column details etc.
• software used in completing the project
• data processing: what did you do to the data sets to make it suitable for your project
• data analysis: present your visualization/dashboard/hypotheses testing

• Project reflection: Please include your reflection of your experience, what did you learn?
• Anything else you want to include about the project, please put them in appendix.
