After watching the video segment, review the 14 principles provided in Title 5 of the Code of Federal Regulations (5 C.F.R.) § 2635.101 (2017), which were listed in the Unit II Lesson.

  1. Submit a written analysis based on the Watergate scandal, which was discussed in the video segment, and its potential violations based on 5 C.F.R. § 2635.101 (2017). Your paper should identify the individuals and/or parties that uphold the best example of public ethics and the worst examples of public ethics during the lifecycle of the news piece. Examine why public institutions need a code of ethics.
  2. Critically state the important moments of the video that you believe have an application to ethics in public administration and why citizens need to develop trust and transparency in public institutions. Draw parallels, and defend your responses.
  3. It is encouraged to research similar supporting material in order to attain a more in-depth understanding of the Watergate event. In addition to the textbook and video, you must use at least one other article from the CSU Online Library.

Ensure your paper is at least two pages in length but is no longer than four pages in length, is double-spaced, and uses 12-point Times New Roman font with one-inch margins. Section headings are also encouraged to help organize your paper.Your paper must be written using APA format. Be sure to include a title page and a reference page, but please note that these will not count toward meeting the minimum page requirement. You must include at least one reference. All sources used, including the textbook, must be cited.The purpose of this assignment is to gauge your understanding of the content, so focus on writing original content rather than simply regurgitating the textbook or other sources, whether by paraphrasing or using direct quotes. Paraphrasing is acceptable, but try to keep paraphrasing to a minimum.
