The purpose of this writing activity is to apply a transitional model that most represents your personal experience noting where you are in that model, identifying role stressors and or barriers and solutions. This assignment allows students to demonstrate, recall, understanding and application of content from course text chapters 1 & 2. This is a 3-5, page content writing activity in APA format, with title and reference page.
In preparation for this activity/assignment the student will:
• Read chapters 1 & 2 in preparation for class discussion week 2
• Reflect on where you are professionally and the circumstances leading to your current status/position
• Complete a self-assessment noting (3) strengths & weaknesses of each
• Self-assess your level of competency according to theorist Patricia Benner
• Identify a transitional or socialization model noting which level or phase you are in, recalling a personal work example
• Identify a role stress problem you are or have experienced
• Explain your solution(s) to resolve.
